Another beautiful weekend.
Early Saturday morning I had a photo shoot at Fern Dell in Griffith Park. What a lovely spot full of (you guessed it) ferns, and a babbling brook, and overgrown stone retaining walls. A verdant oasis in the city and a perfect backdrop for a portrait session. This is something I really love about living in Los Angeles. You can go outside at just about any time of year and find a really stunning natural place to spend your time. Drive 30 minutes in one direction and you're at the beach, an hour the opposite direction and you're in the mountains playing in the snow. Granted, there's smog and freeways and earthquakes, but in many ways it's all worth it.
After the photo shoot, I went back home, picked up Zoe, and took her to her ballet class. While most of the little girls (ages 2-4) are tiptoeing around the dance floor, Zoe is rolling from one end to the other. "That's right Zoe, some bubbles roll on the floor instead of floating in the air!" Her teacher is a dear. Then a little shopping for Craig to get his wardrobe updated for his new job. Sunday we took the kids to Fern Dell because I knew they'd absolutely love exploring the trail. We gathered items to make a nature collage at home and ate grapes and strawberries, and played on the quaint playground adjacent to the trail. Noah mostly slept in the carrier I wore. Owen "really really really" wanted ice cream, so after a couple of hours, we headed back home so I could drop off Craig, Noah and Zoe. Owen and I went out for ice cream. I discovered that his favorite flavor is chocolate peanut butter. That's my boy.
